Four Things About Sports, Super Bowl Ed.

Posted: February 7, 2011 in Sports

Four things about sports is a simple article, breaks down four things rather quickly, that happened recently in the sports world.  In this edition, at least two things will be Super Bowl Related.

  1. Packers bring home Lombardi trophy to rightful place. Last night, the Packers jumped out to an early 21-3 lead in the first half.  After a quick Hines Ward touchdown catch, it was 21-10, and then, 21 to 17!  As the Packers fans began to worry, they quickly scored…  Making it 28 to 17.  The Steelers pulled back within three, but it was of no use.  Green Bay won their first Super Bowl since 1999, and Rodgers now has as many wins in the Super Bowl, as Brett Favre.
  2. Pop Star Christina Aguilera messes up Anthem.Yup, many of you may have missed this live, but most certainly must’ve heard about it on the news.  According to her, no one ever watched over the ramparts…. Hmm, I guess those History books had it wrong… Actually, I think the ole’ books are a bit more historically accurate than that of a pop culture singer.
  3. Hundreds of fans upset. Well thousands actually, but this is not referring to the Steelers losing. Nooo… The hundreds of fans were upset because the temporary bleachers were “not safe” according to Arlington officials, likewise many fans were refunded.  Really brings a tear to you’re eye, huh?  Okay, maybe not, but if you are the sensitive type…. Lets leave it there.
  4. Capitols take advantage of star power-less Penguins. As the Pittsburgh was without Evengi Malkin (out for numerous coming weeks) and Sidney Crosby in an away battle against Ovenchkin and the Capitols.  As the Pens have played well during the absence of their stars, yesterday was an exception to that saying.  They lost 3-0.

Congratulations Packers!
